Historically, the region included the Baltistan (Baltiyul) valleys, the entire upper Indus Valley, the remote Zanskar, Lahaul and Spiti to the south, much of Ngari including the Rudok region and Guge in the east, Aksai Chin in the northeast (extending to the Kun Lun Mountains), and the Nubra Valley to the north over Khardong La in the Ladakh Range. Contemporary Ladakh borders Tibet to the east, the Lahaul and Spiti regions to the south, the Vale of Kashmir, Jammu and Baltiyul regions to the west, and the southwest corner of Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the far north.
Srinagar to Kargil
Our car will pick you at Srinagar international airport and you will leave for Kargil, where you will spend your first night in a hotel. On the way to Kargil, you will see some beautiful places like Sonmarg, Baltal, and Drass and also the zoji La pass and reach Kargil.
Kargil to Leh
After early breakfast in your hotel, you will leave for Ladakh. On your way to Leh, you will also be visiting the pious Lamayuru Monastery, Sangam Point, Alchi Monastery, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, and the gravity-defying Magnetic Hill. Upon completing these visits, you will finally reach Leh city; you will be checked-in into a hotel for your overnight stay.
Leh-Khardung La Pass to Leh
After morning breakfast you will commence in the morning and will take you through the towering Khardung La Pass or the highest motorable pass in the world at 5,602m above the sea level. You will reach the city by evening and then Check-in into your hotel and get freshened. After that, you will visit the Leh market and explore the local life of this city.
Leh to Pangong Tso Lake
After breakfast, you will leave for the mesmeric Pangong Lake. On the way you will pass through the towering Chang La pass at a height of 18,000ft above the sea level, and can also visit the historic Shey Palace and Gompa. Arriving at the lakeside, you will be free to explore its enchanting charm followed by checking-in into a campsite to spend overnight.
Pangong Tso Lake to Leh
Following today’s breakfast, you will be driven back to Leh. Arriving in the city, you will be checked-in into a hotel for your dinner and overnight stay.
Local Sightseen
After breakfast, you will leave to visit some local places in the city like Sindhu Ghat, Shanti Stupa, Hemis monastery and Shey Palace and then return back to the hotel for night stay
Leh – Sonmarg
After early breakfast, you will leave back to Srinagar as this mesmerising tour comes to an end. As the journey to Sonamarg is very long so you will reach Sonmarg late and then check-in into your hotel to spend your night there.
Sonmargh – Srinagar – Airport
After morning breakfast in the hotel, you will be taken to Srinagar International Airport to catch your flight back home.
